Both ambassadors are celebrated for their exemplary careers in diplomacy and international relations tradecraft across Asia. They will share on their personal leadership journeys and lessons learned from advocating for diversity and inclusion within the diplomatic and business arenas.

HE Melba Pria has served as Ambassador of Mexico to Japan since 2019. Prior to her current post, she was Ambassador of Mexico to India from 2015 to 2018 and to Indonesia from 2007 to March 2015.
Her career in other diplomatic positions include serving as a political and consular attache at the Mexican Embassy in Israel from 1979 to 1982, adviser to the foreign minister, general director of state, and federal liaison at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2002 to 2003.
A professional public servant who has served Mexico’s public and private sectors for 40 years, the main themes of her work are embracing political and developmental objectives that focus on and address issues relating to poverty, identity and tolerance, marginalized and ethnically-differentiated communities. She has to her credits several books and publications on issues of diversity and public policy.

Former ambassador Ted Osius is President & CEO of the US-ASEAN Business Council. Founded in 1984, the Council represents 180 of the largest American businesses in Southeast Asia through its headquarters in Washington, DC, and its seven regional offices.
A diplomat for thirty years, Ambassador Ted Osius served from 2014 to 2017 as U.S. ambassador to Vietnam. Leading a team of 900, Ambassador Osius devised and implemented strategies to deepen economic, security and cultural ties between the two countries. In October 2021, Osius published his most recent book, Nothing Is Impossible: America’s Reconciliation with Vietnam, with a Foreword by former Secretary of State John Kerry, covering the two countries’ 25-year journey from adversaries to friends and partners.After his departure from government, Osius joined Google Asia-Pacific as Vice President for Government Affairs and Public Policy, covering 19 Asian nations from Google’s Singapore headquarters. Earlier, he was a senior advisor at the Albright-Stonebridge Group and the first Vice President of Fulbright University Vietnam. Osius was associate professor at the National War College and Senior Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
